Nokia Cell Phones
Smart and stylish phone- perfect for young professionals. Packed
with features though battery life may hinder.
Nokia has delivered probably one of the most balanced cellular telephones I
have seen for a long time in the 3310.
The phone is not so light that one tends to pat ones pockets every five minutes
to make sure it is there. However it is light enough to put in your top pocket
without resorting to a hunchback position.
The phone is also well proportioned with just the right height, width and depth
to fit snugly in ones hand. Key sizes are also excellent and you wont find yourself
hitting three keys at once with every push of your finger (something the 8810
suffers from).
Less practical, but definitely more fun are the games the Nokia 3310 features.
Snake II (the famous Nokia game with a new design), Space Impact (a simple shooting
game), Bantumi (a very simple strategy board game) and Pairs II (memory with
a new face) are great for short time spans when you have nothing else to do.
The Calculator is a typical calculator, nothing exciting there, but it's definitely a nice feature (and one I use relatively often). The Reminders part is nifty, and can easily be used as an alarm clock in the morning, but I personally am missing something similar to a calendar (like the 7110 and 6210 have).
One great thing about the 3310 is that you can change its coverplate. There are a lot of different coverplates to choose from, both originals from Nokia and copies from third party businesses. Unfortunately, a lot of the copies don't fit right, and may break if you drop the phone. The Nokia originals are solid and fit correctly.
Call quality is good, I actually have clear sound in most areas. The display is sharp and even almost detailed for a cell phone screen. I've dropped my Nokia 3310 a lot of time, and it has, so far, survived. Unfortunately, the battery is a little battered from wrong charging (this wouldn't have happened with a lithium battery), but it still works enough to get through about three days without re-charging.
Altogether, the Nokia 3310 is an ideal cell phone for a standard user - everyone
who is looking for a few more features should look at another cell phone - such
as the Nokia 6210 for example.
